I've been feeling bit overwhelmed lately by all of the decisions I need to make. Where should I live? Should I go back to school? Should I take a job that doesn't send home emotional baggage or should I jump into another save the world-type venture? These questions are big enough, but then I can't resist layering on more, speculating about where each choice will take me and what decisions I'll have to make in each new situation. The new Utne Reader arrived in the mail yesterday and the cover shouted "Clear Your Head. Too many choices? How to make up your mind without losing it." The article wasn't amazing, but it was mildly comforting to know that I'm not the only person worrying about this. Well, I know I'm not alone here. Just about everyone I know in their 20's are working on constructing lives for themselves, and that's really what my worries boil down to, but the magazine arrived at an appropriate moment. I literally did a double take when I saw it on the kitchen table.
