We've gotten results back from the tests that my dad had earlier this week. The biopsy results showed that the mass is definitely cancer, but his CAT scan showed that it hasn't spread beyond his colon to his liver or lymph nodes or anything. Surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday, and then he'll be in the hospital for a week or so to recover. We don't know if he'll need radiation or chemo or anything, but it's a relief to know something. We're not just waiting around anymore, thinking the worst.
I hate being in limbo about anything, so I feel better knowing that we now have some sort of timeline. I can figure out how I can help my family out during the next few months, and I can also start looking ahead to my own future plans again.
