Frida was one of those movies that I had meant to see in the theater. I knew it was going to be playing just outside Worcester, but I blinked and missed it. I'd felt a strong curiousity about the woman ever since I saw some of her paintings in my junior high spanish book, then later while flipping through books on feminist art. The surprising and painful ways that she portrayed herself touched me. Anyway, my friend Meghan and I rented it this afternoon, and I really enjoyed it. I'm still wandering around thinking about it.
