I'm rereading Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder, which is a novel about the history of philsophy. I started it last summer, and read it in bits and pieces throughout the fall. It isn't just philosophy for dummies, the story itself is interesting, but it is a good survery of the general work of dozens of philosophers.
