Okay, so after I wrote up a drunken post the other night (now deleted) I discovered that there are at least two people in the world who do still check this weblog, that they both read the post, and that they thought it had kind of an angry, bitter tone to it. Yes, I did talk about how I attract only artistic, uneducated boys, but hey, at least I said artistic and not just uneducated.
My roomate is turning 25 tomorrow. Poor girl. Although I'm less than a year and a half away from the quarter-century mark, at least I can still think to myself, "I'm only 23. The fact that I don't know what I want to do with my life isn't that big of a problem because I'm so young." Actually, the idea that 23 is young shows me just how old I am. I doubt that the roomie is having such thoughts. She's blissfully preparing, chopping up ingredients for tomorrow's dinner party, and getting ready to go out to the Wild Hare, this reggae club in Wrigleyville. I will be participating in both of her birthday weekend events, although it's going to take some work to muster up much enthusiasm for the Wild Hare.
This afternoon my friend Cleo and I drove out to Schaumburg, a lovely suburban town where I picked out a bridesmaids dress to wear in Tara and Brendan's wedding this fall. We also visited one of the other two wonders of Schaumburg, Ikea.
