Oh Elliott. I listened to the new Elliott Smith album on my way to and from Michigan this weekend, and liked it quite a bit. As an Elliott fan I wasn't surprised to find an album full of melancholy lyrics, I mean, thats the attraction isn't it? Listening to beautiful melodies and settling into a thoughtful, if a little sad, mood. A pair of not-so-sad lines from the fourth track keeps running through my head.
I met a girl, snowball in hell.
She was hard and as cracked as the Liberty Bell.

Definitely worthwhile.

My sister's puppy Nelly, who we met this weekend, is a black lab and beagle mix, weighs about 11 lbs, and is incredibly energetic. After getting over her initial fear of my dog Henry (who weighs about 40 lbs), she followed him around and attacked him nonstop for a day and a half. He growled at her, tried to fend off her attacks by snapping at her, and even held her down by clamping his jaws around her neck, but she wouldn't give up. They both ended up exhausted, which Em and I thought was awesome. I wish she lived closer so the pups could hang out more.
