Critical Mass

I did Critical Mass for the first time in years this past Friday night. It was a ton of fun, despite the 90+ degrees temperature. It happens at 5:30 on the last Friday of the month, every month of the year in cities around the world (in Chicago we meet up in Daley Plaza). While riding I caught myself feeling giddily happy because we were temporarily creating the kind of environment that I'd like to be in all the time. Kind of the same feeling that I get when you're talking to a really cool person and there's a moment when you feel like you've been understood, and you get them too. Except that on Friday there were 1,400 of us on the same wavelength.
