Not the best idea I've ever had When I got home from work yesterday I decided that it would be fun to combine rollerblading with taking Henry to the dog park. We could both get some exercise, and we would get to the park more quickly with less sniffing along the way. Things didn’t turn out quite as I imagined. It’s surprising how strong that little dog is—he was pulling me faster than I normally rollerblade on the sidewalk, and I wasn’t really able to stop. A girl driving by stuck her head out of her car window to watch us and laugh as I tried to brake, avoid small children playing on the sidewalk, and stay out of the path of sprinklers. After five minutes or so he started to get tired, I regained a little control of the situation, and we made it to the park.
I told my story to the folks at the dog park and the owner of a husky named Eli said that a friend of his tried to do that with Eli on the bike path and had to let go. After 40 minutes of running around at the park Hen was tired enough to just trot beside me on the way home.
