Growing up in Michigan v. growing up in Syria

Rami (while watching me open my locker at school): How do you do those things?

Me: What, combination locks? Like this. You've never used one? We had them on our lockers starting in middle school.

Rami: We didn't have those. We had machine guns though.

Me: In your lockers?

Rami: No, we learned to use machine guns at school.

Me: I learned to use a combination lock, and you learned to use a machine gun?

Comments:
Wimp! I learned to shoot in middle school as well...

Oh man. I forgot my lock combination every single Christmas break. A machine gun would've blown that sucker right off.

I would like to make it know, that unlike my brother, I went to high school in the US, and got to use lockers. Of course I was in Syria just long enough to use a machine gun for the then-required military training. Eeeeek. I prefer lockers with no machine guns!
