Funny thing

So Steven and I went to a benefit for a service agency that helps Chinese immigrants last week. A friend of his works for a law firm that had bought a table, and he invited us along. After we left Steven said that earlier in the night someone at our table kept asking him if he was freeborn. He said "I thought freeborn? Freeborn? Slavery's been outlawed for over a hundred years. Oh no, not me, my people came here on the underground el. Then I realized that she meant Freeborn as in Freeborn and Peters, the name of the firm."
