Classical music isn't dead

Yesterday: I was taking Henry for one of his many daily walks (dog walking is a great way to procrastinate), and the construction workers down the block had their boombox tuned to a classical station.

This morning: As I stood near the el doors, waiting to exit the train, I glanced over at a guy sitting next to me. He had a pad of score paper on his lap, and was alternating between moving his fingers (it looked like he was simulating a flute, but possibly some other woodwind), and writing notes on the paper. He was doing the bass clef and treble clef, so he wasn't just writing for one instrument.
