Belgium is Beautiful!
After a quick train ride through the Chunnel, I arrived yesterday in Brussels, Belgium. I hit up the major sights and tastes the first afternoon: the Grand Place (the beautiful main square), Mannekin Pis (the peeing little boy fountain), Belgian waffles, Belgian chocolate, and of course my beloved Belgian beer. While hanging out in the hostel's bar last night I met three women who were traveling to celebrate finishing their master's program. They were going to Bruges the next day, and I decided to tag along.
Bruges was absolutely lovely. It was a small city full of 600 year old churches, cobblestone streets, and canals. We took a boat ride through the canals, climbed hundreds of spiral staircase steps to the top of the tallest church, and ate freshly made chocolates while drinking hot chocolate. Even the rain couldn't ruin our day there.
Tomorrow I'm off to Paris!
