Have you paused to congratulate yourself today?

Have you recently done something difficult or cool? Upon completion of said task, did you move on to the next thing without pausing to reflect on your effort? If you did, then you're doing what I often do, probably to my detriment. I'm not saying that we all need to sit back and rest on our laurels, but honestly, I think it's important to acknowledge our own hard work and abilities, even if things didn't turn out perfectly. So. . . if you've recently. . .
  • Tried out for the moot court appellate team
  • Helped a friend through a sad situation
  • Gone on a callback interview
  • Turned in a big assignment at work
  • Gracefully made it through a weird date
  • Ended a relationship that wasn't good for you
  • Been patient with a belligerent employee
  • Started a new, but rather undefined job
  • Moved to a new city
  • Decided to apply to grad school

. . . just to name a few, I think that you should take a moment to appreciate your own wonderfulness.

True, true. Yeah, I think that those of us who were taught to strive need lessons on appreciating the journey, not just the destination.
