Public transportation in Chicago is just too good

That's what the Triple A guy said to me this morning when he came to jump start my car, after I explained that I don't drive it much. That and the battery is four years old. And most of my car trips are less than a mile, so the battery doesn't have much time to get charged. While I wouldn't necessarily agree that transit is good these days, I will agree that I don't really need a car. But I hold on to it for the convenience of being able to transport 20 lb bags of dog food home from the grocery store, and for easy access to Trader Joe's, which is several miles away. And it's nice to be able to drive to Michigan to see my family. So, I gave the car a gift of a new battery today, and even threw in a tank of gas and some new wiper blades. *Please last at least until I finish law school.*
