Thanks CPD
My criminal procedure class has made me more aware and less tolerant of police misconduct and the police in general, but I have to give props to two of Chicago's finest for the help they gave me this morning. My car battery has been dead for the past two weeks, and since I've now run out of groceries, I realized that I would actually need to drive the car again before the spring, or resort to using Peapod. Lindsay kindly agreed to help me jumpstart it. She pulled her car into position, we had jumper cables ready, I popped my hood, she pulled her hood release and . . . her hood didn't open. Lindsay (lucky woman) had never had to look under her hood before, and neither of us could figure out where he latch was (me, my car has had problems, and I jumpstarted Steven's car several times last winter). We reached under the hood, felt all around the edge, and couldn't find it. A cop car drove by, and then turned around and came back to see what we were up to. The guy cop said his Dad used to drive the exact same car, but he didn't remember how to open the hood. The woman had smaller hands and was able to reach under, find the latch, and get the hood open for us. Thanks guys.
