Local History

From the woodworking to the built-ins to the many weird closets, our apartment definitely has a lot of quirky features. A little internet sleuthing told me that our building was built in 1907. Other fun facts---Logan Square was annexed by the city of Chicago in 1889, and the el extended out here in 1890. The boulevard system was created shortly afterwards, which prompted the building of many of the substantial homes and 2 and 3 flats along the boulevards, and I'm guessing our place.
