Just chatted online with Sieren for the first time in a few months. She's living in Beijing, and confirmed that things, well, really suck over there because of SARS. Most of her ex-pat friends have moved away, the restaurants and theaters are closed, and the streets are eerily empty. She and a friend tried to go on a motorcycle trip outside the city last weekend, but there are roadblocks 45 minutes outside the city to keep the people in the infected area in.
