They're everywhere. I see more of them every day; taunting me with their shiny helmets, their cool saddlebags, their happy looks as they ride on a lovely, breezy morning. Bike commuters. I wish I could ride my bike to work.
It's about 9 miles from my apartment to my job, so theoretically it's feasible. It's just that if I were to bike on the streets that I drive on, in the morning traffic that I drive in, I would be in constant fear for my life. I could map out an alternative route, find sidestreets that run parallel to the roads I use. And oh yeah, get my old silver Schwinn fixed, find my helmet and get up an hour earlier every day to give myself time to get there. Okay, well I should try it at least once this summer.
