My good friend from high school Jamie and I just IMed for a hour or so, catching up, trading gossip and discussing our grad school and law school plans. It's funny catching up with people who knew me when I had braces and couldn't drive a car, who were in the high school marching band with me, who I used to go camping with and make mix tapes with and be way too cool (we thought) for our town with. She's living near Buffalo and I'm in Chicago, but it felt like could have been at our parent's houses a few miles apart.
