I met up with a potential roommate out in Oak Park (a western suburb) tonight.  That's a story in itself, and not a bad one, but the best part of the night was driving home.  I-290 East heads straight east towards the city, a view that I don't normally get to see.  I don't use the highways very often, but when I do I'm usually going straight north or south.  Congress Parkway goes straight through downtown and deadends at Buckingham Fountain, which was pretty and rosy all lit up in the rain tonight.  The rest of my drive was north on Lakeshore Drive, a route I've driven a hundred times, but not very often in the dark.
