Winding down on a hot Sunday night. The man next door who owns the part-whippet dog named Ally offered to dogsit Henry whenever I had the need because Henry and Ally get along so well. We let them run up and down the block together at night. They're just about the same size, which makes them great playmates.
The summer always seems so short, but somehow summer weekends seem really long. Maybe it's the longer days that let us pack in more activities, or the warm weather that lures us outside away from computers and televisions and other time-suckers that eat up your hours but leave you feeling kind of empty. I did my best to make the most of this one.
Fun things: went to a work going-away party for Jon and I, did a door-to-door voter registration drive with other Barack Obama volunteers, checked out a potential new apartment, had dinner with Amanda at Heartland (we sat outside so Henry could come along, although he had to sit on the outside of the fence), rollerbladed down to North Ave Beach and then swam and laid out with Cleo, Joel and Eric, had dinner and gossiped with Charlie and Amanda
Not-so-fun things: took Henry to the vet because he has an eye infection :( , got a ridiculous sunburn from being at the beach too long with too little sunscreen on
