Lighting candles
Two good reasons to light a candle tonight: Amanda's birthday, and Light Up the Lakefront, an event put on by Friends of Battered Women and Their Children. It takes place at dusk (around 7:30pm) at the Oak Street Beach. Three thousand luminaries will be set up in the sand to honor victims of domestic violence. Amanda has started volunteering with the organization, so a group of us are going to volunteer with her at the event tonight.
