We've been having gorgeous weather in Chicago lately. I haven't seen the aurora borealis, but I have seen some nice sunsets from my 20th floor office. It almost makes up for having to leave work in the dark.

I've been reminded of certain songs and musicians lately, but in kind of a weird way. Driving on rolling hills reminds me the Buena Vista Social Club, which I first listened to while driving in Tennessee. But I've never listened to Ani Difranco in a bathroom stall, or listened to Wilco while walking along the Chicago River. I was passing Marina City when a song from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot popped into my head, so I guess that could explain it.

Comments:
Leaving work in the dark is perhaps the most depressing thing in the world; nothing makes up for that (though fabulous sunsets probably come close; I work in the basement, so it's just disorienting).

I also first listened to Buena Vista while driving in Tennessee, though there's really nothing remarkable about that fact. The Blue Album, by Weezer, however, always conjures up Wisconsin.

But the point of all of this: thanks for providing the name of Marina City; I was gettng sick of calling it "the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Towers."
