K n i t
I picked up a copy of Slave to the Needles #1 (a knitting zine by Aimee Hagerty) at Quimby's a few weeks ago, and I'm making a pair of flared legwarmers using the pattern from that issue. After starting over three times (once was my sister's puppy's fault) I'm now about a third of the way done with one of them. I have no idea how they'll turn out, but I've had fun teaching myself how to use double-pointed needles.

Chicago Stitch 'n' Bitch meetings are held in Wicker Park on Tuesdays at 7, and I've never made it to one for a variety of reasons (laziness last winter, don't knit much in the summer, class on Tuesday nights this fall). Lucky for lazy little me a spin-off group is forming in Lakeview which is much closer to home. Meetings will start next month and will be held at Uncommon Ground. If you're a knitter or wannabe knitter on the north side and want some moral and technical support you should join.
