Not pretty

Despite of, or perhaps because of years of braces, palate spreaders, and even swallowing therapy (don't ask), I don't have perfect teeth. They're not all at the angles that they should be at, they don't all meet up properly, etc. I have a normal smile and I'm fine with the way my teeth look, but dentists always say hmmmm, and ask questions about my experiences with orthodontia when I go in for my first appointment.

One additional odd feature about my mouth is the way that my gums recede away from a few unlucky teeth. Again, only something that a dentist would notice at first, but something that my current dentist insisted that I have checked out by a specialist. I did, and one thing led to another, which is why I'm sitting here with a mouth full of stitches and a gruesome looking smile while some tissue from the roof of my mouth takes root around one of my eyeteeth. I will not be posting pictures.

I'm trying to practice ventriloquism and my best closed mouth smile so that I don't freak out all of my new law school classmates.
