My favorite kind

Since I've been old enough to participate in romance myself (as opposed to when I was a little kid dreaming of stepping into a Disney heroine's shoes), I've preferred stories and movies involving conversation, witty banter, and even fighting between the love interests. I loved Benedict and Beatice in Much Ado About Nothing, Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, and Joe and Annie in State and Main. While I'm sure that intense physical attraction, being taken hostage together, or a case of mistaken identity can be great relationship starters, those movies always have to (or should) include some talking scenes, because well, otherwise it doesn't seem very believable. Or at least it doesn't to me. I value conversation in all of my relationships, romantic and otherwise. I've had time lately to sit around and talk with some great people, and I must say, nothing makes me happier.
