The bike is back

The car trouble and the warmish weather prompted me to get my bike out of storage. It had been sitting in Steven's laundry room since the first big snowfall this winter. I had biked to his place and when I came outside to find a few inches of snow, I decided that my biking season had ended. But now it is beginning again.

I pumped up the tires, readjusted my helmet straps, pegged my jeans, and transferred my stuff from a shoulder bag to a messenger-style purse. The two and a half mile ride to work cleared my head in a way that a bus ride or a car ride never do. I look forward to doing a little tune-up and reaquainting myself with more of Chicago's streets.
