Everything becomes an argument

I went to a party with Lindsay last spring after I had decided to definitely go to law school. I talked at length with a friend of her friend who was a relatively recent law school graduate. One thing that he told me was that law school will change the way that you think, and you see everything as an argument. Not really good or bad, just arguments. I thought I would hold on to my principles and beliefs, but just now I found myself arguing in my head against a law banning the possession of machine guns because, well, that would help my imaginary client in a paper I'm writing. I had to step back for a minute and say to myself, hey there, remember that you as a person are not pro-gun.
