Is this a sign?
Some people believe that everything happens for a reason, and often tell me so when I'm complaining about an upsetting event. I'm wondering why it was that I had to miss my connection to London and had to wait 24 hours for the next flight, and why when I finally got here, that my luggage didn't arrive with me. I've come up with a few answers. 1) The day long layover in Philly allowed me to spend a day with my cousin Krissy, who I rarely see. 2) It would have been a more tiring and annoying to drag my suitcase along with me on the two trains that it took to get me from Manchester to London. Sound good? Considering that I'm going to be over here for 7 weeks, one day shouldn't bother me too much. The only thing that I should really be bummed about is the fact that my time in London is going to be cut short. I had planned on having three days, and now I'm down to just two, one of which was half taken up with getting here from Manchester. My hostel doesn't have any openings, and I'm guessing that many other places will also be booked. I may just continue on with my plans and head to Brussels on Friday.
The other half of my day was spent walking all over the city. I started at Tower Bridge and worked my way down the river, crossing bridges occasionally, getting a feel for the place. It helped me prioritize what I want to do with my day tomorrow.
But enough of this. My new priority is drinking the beer that the Australian behind the hostel reception desk just sold me. Carling, some English beer. Kind of reminds me of Old Style.
