Slowing down, gearing up

Well, getting used to a slower schedule is getting easier every day, if you can imagine that. I've reacquainted myself with the concept of fun over the past week or so. Two birthday dinners (one my own), a really random night at the bar with Dana, a night of dancing to live country music, going to movies, hanging out at the beach, shopping, a Cubs game, a friend's show, and marching in a Memorial Day parade have caught me up. I've been reading for fun, another luxury.

Of course, just as I started getting used to this, I've realized that I need to start getting ready for my trip abroad this summer. A vet visit for Henry before he heads to Michigan for the summer, a doctor's visit for me, buying a giant backpack, ordering books for the summer classes (which they all but said I HAVE to take with me, since every year someone who ships their books doesn't get them), sending tuition money and housing money here and there, and most fun of all, learning some German (since most of my time will be spent in Austria).

Lindsay and I had fun tonight listening to some German cds I picked up from the library. A rap song may develop from our take on a discussion between a German phamacist and a tourist.
